About the Author

As a writer, my passion extends beyond storytelling; I thrive on transforming my imagination into vivid images. I didn’t see many children who looked like me in the books I read, and now, my hope is to create more stories featuring brown children.

My mission is to bring diverse books to countries where there may be little representation, helping foster inclusivity across the world. We may follow different paths and develop unique passions, it’s important to know the people we work with or care for—understanding their backgrounds can make a world of difference.

In 2017, I earned my bachelor’s degree in communications, with a minor in Arts-Digital Film. Digital storytelling was my favorite subject, and it sparked my passion for creative expression through multimedia.

As a child, my parents took me on long road trips across the United States whenever they could. I have memories of rafting in Tennessee, riding through the hills of Kentucky, and walking the streets of Michigan—the list goes on. We all experience the world through different perspectives, and I believe my parents wanted to expose me to as many of those perspectives as possible. Little did they know, their desire for exploration sparked a lifelong passion in me.

Now, as a wife and mother, I enjoy traveling the world and unlocking our curiosity to learn more about many cultures as we adventure through life’s journey.
